Villanelles Poetry Evenings £4 on entry
Last Thursday of every month 7-10.30pm
Poetry Workshops 7-8pm
Open to poets of all levels and styles, these workshops helped writers to try new techniques to boost their writing. Poets had the opportunity to stay for the Open Mice slot afterwards.
Poetry Evening with Guest Poets & Open Mic 8-10.30pm
Our Villanelles events were full of life and honest words, and people joined us for an inspirational night of poetry from an eclectic mix of poets and styles. We had Guest poets each month, and we encouraged first-timers to have a go at reading and performing their works. This event was held at The Fountain Inn, Gloucester. Hosted by Ziggy Dicks and Jason Conway.
The Villanelles were legendary!
The entry fee paid supported our guest poets and also encouraged poets to come to Gloucester to perform.
Squawkers Poetry Evenings, with Guest Poets & Open Mic
3rd Friday each month, 7-10.30pm
Our monthly Cheltenham poetry event was held at The Sober Parrot, hosted by Josephine Lay.
The Sober Parrot is an alcohol-free zone serving fine food and drinks with a dedicated live entertainment area on the upper floor.
GPS Waterstones Gloucester - 3rd Sunday of each month
Our monthly daytime poetry event was held at Waterstones in Gloucester on the first floor. This was a family-friendly event to encourage poets of all ages to share their words. People were welcome to be part of the audience or take part. This event was hosted by Jake Saw and Sarah (Saffy) Snell-Pym.
The event happened next to the cafe, so people could treat themselves to a drink or food and enjoy inspirational poetry.
